Praxis helps founders and CEOs get clear on what their marketing actually needs before they hire an agency or a marketing director. We come in before that decision, not instead of it, and deliver a concrete roadmap so your next marketing investment goes in the right direction.
A marketing agency executes your marketing. Praxis figures out what your marketing should be doing before anyone executes anything. We do not run ads, manage social media, or build campaigns. We audit where your business stands, identify what is working and what is missing, and deliver a clear roadmap so you can hire an agency or marketing director with confidence and hold them accountable.
A fractional CMO takes on an ongoing leadership role in your marketing function; managing vendors, directing strategy, and often overseeing execution on a part-time basis. Praxis is typically engaged for a specific project or decision point. We come in, do the work, deliver the findings, and give you a roadmap. That roadmap may ultimately recommend a fractional CMO as the right next step; we are the step before that decision, not the execution of it.
A marketing consultant provides strategic advice and guidance. A marketing agency provides execution: running campaigns, managing channels, producing content. For most growing businesses, the right order is consultant first, agency second. A consultant helps you figure out what you need and what a good agency relationship looks like for your business. Then you hire the agency, equipped to brief them properly, set the right expectations, and measure their results.
Praxis works best with founders and CEOs of growing businesses, typically between $500K and $10M in revenue, who are about to make a significant marketing decision. That might be hiring a marketing director, signing with an agency, rebuilding a marketing strategy, or figuring out why what they are currently doing is not working. If you are spending money on marketing without knowing what you are getting back, or about to spend money and not sure where to start, Praxis is built for that moment.
You are probably ready if you are spending money on marketing without knowing what you are getting back, about to hire an agency or marketing director and not fully confident in the decision, frustrated that your current marketing is not producing the results you expected, or growing quickly and feeling like your marketing has not kept up. If any of those sound familiar, the Clarity Engagement is designed for exactly that moment.
No, and that is exactly the point. Most of the founders who work with Praxis come in without a clear picture of what they need. That confusion is the starting point, not a barrier. The intake form asks a few questions to understand where you are and what decision you are facing, and we take it from there.
Yes. While Praxis is based in Tampa Bay and serves many local businesses, discovery sessions can be conducted by video and the engagement works equally well remotely. The Marketing Clarity Report is a written deliverable that does not require ongoing in-person access.
The Marketing Clarity Engagement is our core service. It is a structured audit of your business's current marketing situation, including your channels, budget, digital presence, brand, competitive landscape, and team; followed by a written Marketing Clarity Report that gives you a prioritized roadmap and a clear primary recommendation. The engagement includes a two-hour discovery session and a follow-up call within 30 days of delivery.
You receive a written Marketing Clarity Report, a professional document that covers findings across eight evaluation areas including your goals, current marketing efforts, ROI and budget, brand and positioning, digital presence, competitive landscape, team and vendors, and customer journey. The report includes a gap score for each area, a prioritized list of recommendations, a phased roadmap, and a primary recommendation on your next marketing hire or decision. It is designed to be shared with your leadership team and used as a working document.
The Spark typically delivers within 10 business days of your discovery session. The Clarity Engagement delivers within 15 business days. The Strategic Assessment delivers within 20 business days of the final stakeholder interview. The process is designed to move quickly because most founders are making a time-sensitive decision; we do not want to slow that down.
Yes, Agency Search Management is available as an add-on service for $2,000. If your Clarity Report recommends bringing on an agency, we can manage the search on your behalf: developing a requirements brief, identifying and vetting candidates, reviewing proposals, checking references, and delivering a final recommendation. Praxis has no financial relationship with any agency, so our recommendation is based entirely on fit for your business.
Our core offering, the Clarity Engagement, is $2,500 as a fixed fee. For earlier-stage businesses, we offer The Spark at $1,200, a lighter-touch version for companies under $500K in revenue. For mid-market companies with more complex needs, The Strategic Assessment is $5,000. All engagements are fixed fee with a 50/50 payment structure: half on signing, half on delivery. We also offer advisory retainers starting at $1,200 per month for clients who want ongoing strategic support after completing a Clarity Engagement.
Yes. After completing a Clarity Engagement, clients can move into an advisory retainer. The Sounding Board is $1,200 per month: two advisory calls per month, written feedback on marketing decisions, and email access for quick questions. The Strategic Advisor is $2,200 per month and includes weekly calls, unlimited asset reviews, same-day access for urgent matters, and monthly performance reviews. Both are month-to-month with 30 days notice to cancel.
